""thats certian but as an expert in car audio i would strongly recommend a ported box. why? because a regular cab truck doesnt have much airspace for the heavy base and big sound to bounce around. therefore you simply dont hear it. the ported box will shoot the air out of the hole on the side and deliver the sound that you are looking for. i also have a kicker L7 and i went with the 750/1 mono amp it delivers true 750 watts.(jbl is known for lieing about the power of thair amp regardless of what it says on the amp, they get away with it by calling it the "787 watt series") i would recommend a capacitor, not necissary but it will build up the power and shoot it to your amp, this way the amp can give the sub the kind of power that it can push, a regular car battery will not give you half the power that this monster sub demands.""

what a tool...

go ahead and make fun of this "expert"

it gets better!

to respond to those above - if you use 16-20 inches of port to minimize port velocity you wont get any port noise look at this priceless advice he continues to give

"do you can buy one....... anywhere that sells subs or you can do it the cheap way.... and drill a hole that you can fit your arm in.. that is about how big the holes are on this box... but if you sell your current box and biy a ported one it will only cost you about $30"

Just drilla hole big enough to for your arm to fit, well you might get port noise doing it this way OMFG!!!!

Port noise?

im laughing at the JBL power ratings, his insistence of capacitor use and the claim that the sub uses the battery and cannot use half of what the battery has or some shit.
