HDTV's...what do you have?

A surge protector will keep harmfull current from going back and zapping your expensive HDTV when lightning hits the dish, someone topples a pole, surge comes through your power-line, etc...

Line conditioning will help giving your HDTV nice clean power without spikes up and down for a better picture and should make your set last longer, especially the light source. Some people using a good line conditioner actually say they have seen a difference in picture quality.

Sony xbr 34" CRT. Still the best 1080i picture Ive seen. The new 1080p Tvs are crazy nice though...

Question: Why do so many people hang up their Plasmas or LCDs above eye level? I cant stand it when I come to peoples houses and I have to look up to watch TV. My neck starts to hurt.

My bad intercoole. I misread the power surge thing, and thought you said speific ones for HDTVS..as if it would do something else.

I would do a surge protector at least, but line conditioners seem a little unnecessary. Plenty of electronics work fine after years of unconditioned power.

delvryboy...guitar stands?

They do work just fine. If you are ever on the AVS forum though they go into like crazy! I see many of things they talk about for the weakness of each HDTV... My Samsung has the clouding and my Polaroid has banding... but neither one bother me while I am watching something so I don't care. They use the line conditioners because they say it makes a difference in the picture plus makes the light source last longer. FWIW I am not doing line conditioning myself. I have HDTV surge protectors on both.

I just picked up my 32" sharp c3242u from costco. $150 coupon ftw. I'm watching Late Night with Conan right now, picture is great. HD is definitely the way to go. I'll get some pictures up in the morning.
