hds315 not hitting hard

I opened up the box and they ran it parralel, i have 2 negatives and 2 positives, i just tried combining them into one port so 1 negative and 1 positive onto the amp and still it didnt go as high as it was supposed to you can just barely feel the subwoofer vibrate a little bit, the tweeterse were alot louder than it to give you some perspective, if you didn't have your hand on the sub you wouldn't even feel it was on in the rest of the car.
Just making sure... Are you sure your sub is wired like this? jumped wire each pos and negative end connecting each other and one on each pos and negative end connected to the amp?

Its

okay, what would i look for with the meter? what would the ideal voltage be?
How to Adjust Amplifier Gains Using a Digital Multi-Meter - Knowledge Base

Definitely read that article. YOU DO NOT GUESS WHEN SETTING GAINS. Turn off subsonic filter and low pass filter set to max highest it can go when setting the amp.

For the wire, if you see any end thats a shade yellow/green/gray then its a burnt wire

Check your ground wires. Make sure they are at a proper ground location and that its sanded/scraped off paint leaving a bare metal to metal connection.

Thanks for the help, the ground wires are good, and all the wires are good, ima try that tuning thing i guess to see if that is the problem, its getting late so ill update you guys tomorow thanks for the help!

Make sure you test your power to the amp as well as setting the gain properly.

Sounds like you already eliminated the hu, but just incase, did you readjust all your settings? Assuming you disconnected the battery while installing, it may be back to factory settings...I had a similar issue with my alpine and found that the 'sub' (not 'bass') setting needs to be set to 15 (0-15 available) to get rated voltage from the pre outs.

Worst place to leave your car for install work. Its like automotive repair and oil changes at walmart
I have worked with the guy at best buy a couple of times in the past and have seen his work, don't get why you guys are saying no best buy, other than car toys my only choice would be hyper audio and if i left my car with them they would strip out all my wire and put in granny wire, just getting a amp, best buy is my only place for that.

Okay if you have had work done by them before and its good then go for it. Just heard lots of best buy horror stories, however its subjective to whoever they hire as an installer. Sometimes its a noob with a certification training and thats it. When you are luccky you get a guy t

with experience.

have u tried pushing in on the cone of the sub. i have had motors shift during shipping due to negligence by the handlers. if motors shifted u could give it. twice rated power and have little to no movement and barely any output.

Let me just clarify this by adding that you should not give your sub twice its rated power if it's not moving very much. The voice coil will heat up extremely fast if the motor isn't aligned properly to allow the EMF to move the coil and cool it.

Peek power on the sub is 2400 so i would have to find a amo that could give it 5k power, not wanting to spend that money
I gotta give it to you straight man. You are doing things all sorts of wrong if you are looking at peak power and guessing on amp gain settings.

Straight up, let us know what kind of box you have it in, or better yet take a picture of EVERYTHING in your setup. Box, how its looking in your car. Your amp wiring and ground points, Amp settings, head unit settings. Help us help you...

Let me ask you what part of the multi-meter method did you try and made you feel like giving up? Its not rocket science its just basic calculator input. If you need test tones we will give it to you. No sense in paying an arm and a leg for an install by someone else. TELL US THE PROBLEMS so we can walk you through it.
