well for a few months now i've had an hdc318, hifonics2008, and some kicker 1/0 wire just sittin in my room (bought it all from a friend for 400$, just don't have anything to put it in)....and every year our county holds a small car show/sound competition....and i've been doing builds for a lot of ppl that i know and they say that they're gonna enter the competition, because they know they're hittin higher db's than the winner of last year (somethin like 144)....so i've been planning a little somethin behind theyre backs...lol

well i'm gonna build a "wedge 2" (that's what it's called on rockford fosgate box wizard) shaped box, after taking my passenger seat out....and having the port firing at the driver seat, with the sub firing at the windshield....the design i've made up comes out to be around 9cubes before sub, port, and brace displacement...my question is what size aeroports do i go with to tune the box around 36-37hz....also what formula do yall use to figure this???..and yes i've tried searching

well i really planned on goin a lil smaller, but i was unsure how much power i'd have to work with....(i was either gonna use my 1000wt crunch amp (thats currently in my truck), or run 1/0 wire with another battery and use the hifonics)....but now that i plan on having around 1700-1800wrms...i'll just build the box to about 7.5cubes before displacements.....so do you think i'll have enough port area with just one 8"port

so what is the sub displacement of the hdc318?....and do i just find the volume of the ports using (pi x radius"squared" x length) , and subtract that from my gross volume?..to figure out what volume is left?

well i've got my design together and i plan on running the sub in 6.0 cubes after sub, brace, and port displacement....with 1 10" aero.....(but i have one more question, on that port length calculator, do you type in the gross volume or net volume to determine the length????
