Box Cutting

Guys, I am having a hard time getting straight cuts on long runs. ANy suggestions? I am using a 10' skilsaw. Its older black and decker. I have a roybi 10" table saw but really dont have any way of making the wood straight. Just looking for some hints from all you professional builders.

i use a skill saw and then if theres any non-straight parts i either use a palm sander or a hand planer

Make sure your fence is aligned correctly to the table saw I had a similiar problem and my fence was mis-aligned just had to align it just a few screws on my ridgid.

i have something dont know if its a fence but it slides on one side and I can lock it down. But how am I suppose to put the huge piece on the table.? I try using all 4 side because normally they are pretty true.

Use a guide

Clamp down a 1x4 as a guide

Yeah if your table saw doesn't have a big table it's pretty hard to cut a full sheet of mdf on it. I'll usually use a circular saw to cut the full sheet down than use the table saw

can you recommend a good circular saw? Dewalt Makita? What size do I need a 10"?

i use a craftsman 10" and it works great. had it for quite awhile now

^^^^ thanks I apppreciate it. I have to do a better job. I noticed today I could feel air moving out of some edges on the box. I was sparring on the glue. I guess it does not matter that much because its ported.

ported or not you still don't want leaks that's what silicone is for
