HDC3 Tunning, No i'm not a noob

Long story short i'm running 2 hdc312's off of a crunch gp3000d in a dodge charger tuned at 38hz in a 4 cubic ft box. Before this I had the same setup in a 99 tahoe but 15's in a 8 cubic ft box tuned at 38hz.

Must admit the shit slams. Gonna trade in my charger for a 2009 tahoe, going back to 15's. Upgrading to the new aq3500d 4300watts @ 1 ohm. Electrical will be a 270 amp dc alt, 2 runs of 0g positive and negative group 31 up front and 2 g31's in the back. I listen to mostly rap, gucci mane and jezzy. These conditions met, should I stay with 38hz tunning? Been wanting to try at 36hz. This is for daily, i don't compete.

I don't build my own boxes, i live in an apartment so no tools etc. I have a buddy who builds boxes up in pa. I'm a one and done guy. Don't have the time or money to experiment like you guys do ( i wish). I'd like anyone who has run hdc3s at 36hz compared to 38hz. Real world experience, no therycraft please. For musical purposes which do you think would be better. Not chasing numbers and i'm sure both would slam( 4000 watts). What are the pro's and cons of each 36hz and 38 hz. What would i Gain, lose etc. Whats the difference? Thanks

36 will sound just fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif you really plan to get 4300 out of that aq3500??? and id say going to 36 wont be a huge difference but yes it will play a little lower...

I dont think you will notice a diff. I'd go with 36. Just make sure you have about 16 sq inches of port area per cube, they seem to like a lot of port area.

i had an 18" HDC3 i had two boxes for it one was 7.0 cubic foot tuned to 38hz and the other was 7.5 tuned to 33 hz and i do have to say i loved the 33hz tuning alot better than 38 but thats my opinion though

Did they not play low enough for you at 38hz? I don't think you'll notice a big difference with just 2hz lower.

Why not do some big aero's? That'll make it easy to change tuning. Do some big ones tho so you stil have 16sq in of port or close because like said above they love a ton or port space.
