HDC3 owners wanna do me a favor?

I finall got around to getting everything mounted turned it up a little bit. I've given it adequate amount of time to break in. I don't really notice a noise because every panel in my car is shaking. This actually plays the lows ALOT better than I had expected.
White girl makes my steering wheel shake.
can you do a vid? and did you have the trunk open while trying to listen for the sound?

well, on low power i do not hear the noise either guys. i mean it has to get moving a decent bit before i hear the sub start doing it. so if you guys are doing low power and listening for the noise i doubt you'll hear it, which is why i think we got so many people saying, their sub doesnt do it.

but back to the original point of the thread...has no one pushed on the cone to feel for the sticky section in the range of motion? thats the only thing thats bothering me. we got a decent amount of info on the noise, but no info on the "feeling".

btw, for potential buyers of the hdc, i only know of 3 people who have had the noise. DBdesigns, me, and 1 other guy (whose name i dont remember).

maybe you got port noise? maybe something like a piece of paper or something got in there and rattles. I remember I left a paper next to a box, and it was a ticket with important info, got sucked into the box. It sounded wierd for a while, and I couldnt find the paper for a long time, then something dinged in my head and I found the paper.
no port noise. it did the noise with 60^2 of port now, and 90^2 of port in the last box.

no paper either. when i took everything out after almost getting jacked, i removed the sub to make the box lighter and easier to move. looked inside, and there was nothing.

I went out today to double check...Still no noise.. Mine just went boom //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Ill check tomm when i wire to 1ohm......think it has to be broken in first to hear the noise?

And none of mine are sticky in the spiders that i can tell....just really tough to move

nope. my noise started to go away as it broke in.

you will have to wait till you can get the cone moving a good bit, because mine sticks lower to the bottom. pretty much wont happen, if they are brand new as they are stiff lol

george... here is what you do. get 3 vicodin's and a bottle of jaeger... drive out to the park... take the pills... drink some jaeger, put a sweep on repeat and pass the fook out... when you wake up the noise will be gone LOL... im just playin man. but seriously i would just go out to a remote location and run sweeps at 3/4 volume for a couple of hours and see if they dont got away. after all in music your only looking at having "bass" in about 10% of the track... sweeps will work your subs nonstop... couple hours on sweeps is equivalent to atleast a day or two of solid jammin on tunes.

What do you mean by "stick"? Does it hang up or freeze? Does the coil rub? Does it "stick" under power? If it doesn't play it and don't worry about it. Let the suspension settle in and do it's job.

LOL... Just play the crap out of them on a daily basis and enjoy them for what you got them for... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ignore.... As you requested it went out and push tested all 4 of my tens... they dont stick... No noise... Everythings good... Like i said... Im running a shit load of power on them... It will take a shit load of time to break them in, which is infact a good thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif....

Just keep beating away on it... Play music, sweeps, what ever... Dont touch it for 2 weeks... Seriously... Then check it again... Trust me im the most meticulous picky person you will ever meet.... I watched the C3 throughout the whole Break-In Process process and to at this point all 4 of them are perfect... Gained 3 10th's on the mic too.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Seriously this sub is a very VERY well designed piece of machinery... It is very complicated and complicated for a reason.... keep in mind that this IS NOT a IASCA

Blinged Perfect 40 SQ subwoofer... This is a SPL platform mixed with enough SQ to make pretty much everyone happy... With anything that can handle 2.5,, 3k and a shit load more power on burps, then be able to play music Pretty painfully //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif there will always be some kinda of mechanical noise....

Personally id rather have that,,, then a single spider "named SPL" Subwoofer that claims to have 3k Daily under its belt and holds together over a period of time, without you lauching the freakin coil out the cone or busted spider landings ect.... Not to mention other problems....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif
