push down evenly on your cone so as to not rub the coil. up and down through the full range of motion for your sub (well not the full range, just from the baseline position, all the way down, and then back up)

do your spiders kind of stick on the way down and then back up about half way through the range of motion?

kind of hard to explain, and you cant get a picture/video of it either. not sure how else to describe it.

reason for asking is, the noise is not going away fully (the noise i described in a few other threads). i figured the noise would go away by now, but its still there. like i said though, it improved a GOOD bit but its not gone.

cant notice it from the front of the car, but when i went back there to see if the noise went away yet, its still there. doenst effect the listening experience, but knowing its doing it back there is driving me nuts.

Ignore... I remember the long talks concerning this very same subject... In fact i had asked you to do this test when i first got mine to see if yours did the same thing....

The noise sounds like a "crackle" type of noise... Its a normal thing... All 4 of my 10's do it... If im not mistaking, The spiders are so close to each other they kinda kiss when they move... Its normal...

Me and DJ talked several times during the break in process.... Just play the crap out of it... You have 2 years etc... If that thing "Mechanically" Fails he will break it down and fix it for you....

nah not a crackle sound, but more so kind of like a "plastic sounding clatter" which seems to happen more so on the quick punchier notes. was really bad at first, then started going away, and now you cant hear it from the front, but looking at the sub back there, you can.

the sticking thing is what bothers me most though. ive never experienced that before. im having a real hard time describing it.

edit: yea, DJ is a good guy, i not too worried about it. its just kind of different from my past experiences.

lol same thing kinda... I know what you are talking about... Like i said... There are 6 spiders packed on that thing... They are very very close together... They kiss when they move... Trust me i was all over it when i noticed it... Its going to take a while to break the c3 in... Mines starting to go completely away... It just took a LONG LONG time for it to happen....

Hey George, when you experience this noise, does it happen when the back hatch is closed and your in the back or only when the hatch is open? I had woofers make strange noises when they were not firing against the trunk in some set-ups, i dunno why.
You should try seeing if the hatch is closed and ur listening to in the back if it makes the noise.
yea it makes the noise either way.

only other thing i notice is that when i cover up the port with my arm, the noise gets much louder. yea, your not gonna put your hand by the port when listening to it, but its something i noticed.
