Let me rephrase. Cheap parts from chinese factories that don't give a sh1t, due to Aq being cheap, and not buying quality parts.

i like my aq 1200, not 1 problem. havent tried a sub yet though

i see this type of stuff everyday bro. when the pole is missaligned normally the cone is pushed to 1 side of the basket more too.

in the end its not china at fault it is the owner of the company. he needs to check up on his product and make sure it is being manufactured correctly. yes there will be issues from time to time that sneek up on ya, but he needs to check on this.

its hard to make a buck and build only in the states because the cost is so high and everyone is soo cheap. how many $400+ subs fly off the shelves daily compared to under $150? companys have to survive that means you have to go over seas to accomidate the mass and keep ur head above water. everyone knows want usa made go dd over aq...

I've seen a HDC handle 6kw burps for a whole season...this was '08 though, things may have changed.

Yeah which makes the Op's statement about how many recones AQ goes through irrelevant. Its funny OP said through his experience that AQ messes up more often because in my experience I have seen more Sundown mess up than anything else. But I know OP wouldn't agree with me that Sundown fail.

Bro, how dare you ever say that Sundown anything will ever blow! Don't you know that the SA-12's 2.5" coils can handle 2kW daily and the amps can run on 9v daily?

Not once have a had a mechanical issue from an AQ sub. I have a freinds as well who have been competing with AQ for quite some time now without one issue or complaint. This includes many TL tests, high power burps, and music play. It's funny how when one person says a negative thing about a sub, other chime in to say " Yea the spiders are crap" and so on. Please explain how they hinder the performance on them in any way. For the money, I find the HDC a great sub. OP, i understand how from your evaluation on that specific sub you can derive this statement but I will state this can happen with any company as we all know in which I've personally seen this type of stuff on other "brands". But the good ol' saying of "to each their own" applies in this. We all have a right to an opinion.
