Having trouble with recone

the ring is steel and u dont need it. the first gen i put on a lath and spind down to the steel ring and leave the the screws in...

Okay, I got my basket all cleaned up. I am wondering since my aluminum ring that was over the spider is basically obliterated, will I be fine without it once I recone? I imagine I should just slather some glue on top of the spider also? Please fill me in on what to do.

We suggest filling in around the top outside edge of the spider with epoxy, yes.

If you do this and glue it down well it will stay on just fine with no steel ring.
