Anyone know how to get the grey box off the top of the speakers so I can take the old ones out and install the new ones? It's a 92 Grand Am SE Coupe....if that helps any.

Not positive but going to take a shot at it. If there are not visible screws more than likely you will need to pop off the side panels and pull the back part of the seat off in order to best get the rear deck cover off. Best way to find what is attaching the seat down would be to push in at all of the edges well enough to find the bolts, screws, etc.... HOpe this helps some.

You will more or less likley need to pop those rear panels off...then your rear deck should just pop off. Check and see if you can get access from inside the trunk also.

if it still doesnt come off w/ the above mentioned ways...also try removing your back seat and those side panels...good luck

Very much like my Cavalier. I was lucky enough to not have to take the side pannels off. I slightly bent the rear deck cover up in the middle and pulled it out. It is made of some what flexable material and the edges extend only about 1/4" behind the side pannels. If you can bend it up enough without breaking it it should not be that big of a problem to pull it straight out. After the sides come out far enough, the seat belts will slide out the side slot. Mare sure any push pins or other types of fasteners that may be on the front side (between the top of the back seat and the rear deck) are removed.
