Having some issues I can't figure out.

First off let me start by saying I know I need to upgrade my amp, and the big 3 but as of now every 12 I put in my ported box sounds and acts like one or both voice coils are smoked, but when I press down on the cones, there is no sound of a blown coil. Anyone have any ideas where to start?

I have rewired my radio, equalizer and amps. My mids and highs amp works just fine for the miss and highs. It's getting pretty irritating thinking I need to replace my subs when I'm pretty sure it's not them. Any help works, thanks in advance.

How is the amp's gain set? Can't just throw any sub in any box and expect good results. Is it a prefab enclosure or custom built? How are/were the subs wired?

Need more info bud....

Prefab box, tuned to 33hz, gain is set at between 1/4 and 1/2 and the lpf is set to about 45hz. Sub is wired down to 2 ohm and the amp is rated to handle a 2ohm load. It might be my head unit. It's been clutching on me lately and doing random cheap. So I'm ordering a new headunit. To see if that fixes the problem, since I need a new one anyways.

Also the box is 1.5cu ft and the sub is recommended to be in a 1.5cuft ported box. I've been doing car audio for a while this is just the first time I've had this issue and I couldn't find anything on it anywhere else.

lpf should be 80-120hz not 45 hz

Prefab enclosure tuned to 33Hz? I doubt it....most to a lot of them are tuned pretty high...what is your HU atm?

Double din planet audio. It was working fine until maybe 2-3 weeks ago, now it scans the radio by itself, pauses songs, accesses the setting and Just about everything else. That's why I was thinking it's the HU.

And it might be worth mentioning the HU has a single subwoofer rca out. I used a mediabridge single male to double male 3ft splitter off out the HU to my SSL equalizer.

I detached and reattached everything tonight, as well as set my amp to 90hz for the lpf and it's doing the same thing still.
