Well I havent been around here much since my 95 LHS was stolen outta my driveway and the entire system was stolen!!!One week after installing it to it!!!!Some people piss me off!I got the car back after 3 weeks completly gutted and didnt have fire and theft on it but i do now!

My setup was:

Clarion EQS560 EQ

Kicker 3.5s in dash..they didnt steal those at least lol

Kicker KS5.2 components

Kicker DS69s 6x9s

Kicker L7 12s x 2

Power Acoustik A3000DB

Old school Toshiba 4 channel lol

1/0 AWG wiring

All stinger wiring and rca's

After getting the car back I went out and got a Clifford Arrow 5 alarm and installed it myself works awesome!

Now I need to upgrade my system again...but gonna wait till after christmas to get my Equipment again.

Here Is what I will have by then.

Kenwood KDC-MP4028 deck

JBL 6.5s

JBL 6x9s

Kicker 3.5s in dash still

1/0 awg wiring

I am thinking of going with 3 or 4 12s that dont take soo much space like the L7s.

I really like the power that the PA A3000DB put out so I may get another one of those since they are priced nicley!

For subs I was thinking 3 Alpine Type Rs or similar or 4 JBL subs cheaper ones.

I was also wondering about the PA Mofos, i heard some good stuff on them; Any good?

What do u guys think I should do for subs that arnt too much money?

I would like to spend no more than 500US or so on subs and around 300US on my amp....I may spend more who knows since I will be working as a full time machinist by then.

Thanks for any input

Jay

pass on the rear fill and get a nice set of components for the front. coaxials are silly.
Ya but right now my car has no speakers at all lol my stock premiums were in the back seat when the car was stolen and those were stolen as well...I have premium sound in my car and cant put after markets in bc it will sound like garbage...

I am gonna go with components after a while but for the moment I dont want to have to go get a 4 channel to run them so I will just buy the JBL 6.5s and 6x9s and run off the deck.

So far for the price the Type Rs are sounding nice, since I use to have 3 12 inch Type S's in my old ride and they pritty F-ing loud for what they are!

My buddy has a 1000 watt rms@1 ohm Kaption Audio (canadian brand high end cost him 1100cdn) that he will sell for 300 but I will offer him like 200 and see but I kinda want a little more power.

What kind of area do you live in? I feel absolutely safe leaving my truck unlocked at night.

But yeah, that's quite a loss. My parents are trying to persuade me to put an alarm on my truck now that I have a $700 system in it, but Viper alarms are expensive to have installed on a budget like mine.

There are 'DIY self-contained' alarms that are very affordable. The DEI 'Wasp' & 'Hornet' are good alarms. I have even seen 'Bulldog' DIY alarms sold at Auto Parts Stores for about $40.

My bro uses the DEI 'Wasp' and a DIY 'Bulldog' is installed by me in my Mom's car. Both work great!

Check DEI out at: http://www.directed.com

* You can have a good alarm on a tight budget. It is much better than no protection at all!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i wish i had that kind of comfort. i would freak out if i left my truck unlocked. leaving my boat outside is scary too. i need to put an alarm on it for when it is parked in the driveway. the only thing stopping theives is the boat and tower cover. luckely i have a tongue lock for the trailer.

I wasn't bragging at all, just giving you the reason my parents are concerned. To them, that's a heck of a lot of money for a stereo system, and they don't want me to lose it.

I would not get the PA Mofo's. They are a junk woofer. The type R's to me put that sub to shame, not to mention they are cheaper and can take some serious power. The PA amps I have personally never heard bad things about. So might want to slap that on 4 of the r' s and you will be happy. Just watch where you play the system. I went through a bad neighborhood one nite and next day at work my car and over 5000 grand of my competition sound system and over 1500 bucks in cds/dvds were gone. Oh not to mention they stole one of my bowling balls and for some reason one of my shoes, lol! I guess it was a one legged bowler.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I installed a complete car alarm on my bro's boat. It is powered by a small Lawn & Garden battery (fits just right underneath seat box). Made sure and secured it from bouncing around. Works great and protects the boat well!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have a 'Driveway Patrol' motion detection alarm with the motion detector on the wood gate protecting the boat. The receiver is inside and alarms when motion is detected. They sell these in the 'MailOrder' catalogs/ebay and partsexpress.com

I have seen a similiar 'high-tech' driveway alarm called the 'Reporter' sold at Radio Shack and 'MailOrder' catalogs. It has outputs for external sirens. Costs much more though.

BTW, I have seen that 'tongue lock' sold at Wal-Mart and Auto Parts Stores. It has a metal ball that fits in the hitch ball space and locks around. Very cleaver idea!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/idea.gif.5acb6a39a9b92425414c316dda202bad.gif
