have you seen this beast?

hmmm.. I would agree, that thing will either yank your heart out of your chest and show it to you or it will be the laughing stock of the audio world... Anyone know how much they went for..?

$999 on nexxon.com.....but they came with a free T-shirt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

and shipped in a custom wood crate.

this sub was discussed some time back by a few SPL veterans here.

It was bigbassman who said the sub just doesn't work. You'd need everything (even the exact length of wire to the terminals) to make sure the motors move in unison.

Good job Captian Obvious...yet another victory //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/handclap.gif.0c301076f534e244f0460706894f19e0.gif

i talked to a dealer of these things before they went out of business (atleast thats what i heard, said thier drivers kept failing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) and the retail on one was about 1200 dollars (if i remember correctly)

a long while ago i tried to order an XP 15 for like 60 + shipping brand new... i did some research on thier products and liked what i was reading so i tried to get one. but somebody beat me to it

later on down the road i bought a pair of 5 1/4's and a pair of tweeters off ebay (they are still on thier now) and they Sound Excellent to me. i give them an A+.

they are dirt cheap check out a pair for yourself on ebay right now...

a square has more surface area than a circle....

yes but if you want to get technical... captian obvious's..... a flat sqare does not have more surface area then a typical "cone" shape..because they go down.. you get more surface area ... do the math... if it wasn't flat..more like the L7's then it would be different

I guess radiating pistonic area means nothing?

Do we take a tape measure and measure down the conical slope...across the dustcap and up the other side 1/2 through the surround to get Sd?
