Have things gotten cheaper???

I have been out of the scene for some time now, but I have recently been lurking ...... and it seems things are way cheaper now than when I was in HS.

I can remember paying 500 or more for an Alpine 3 disk in dash changer many moons ago. I was in a shop yesterday and saw several head units all in the 2-300 range that look pretty nice.

Amps seem to have fallen in price big time. Am I imagining all of this? Are the Rockford Fosgate amps still high quality or are they junk now? Those suckers seem cheap.

Well I dont know how old you are and I cant say nothing Im only 20. But I do remember my uncles breaking a leg for there systems. But welcome to the forums

Yes amps and headunits are cheaper.

Whether headunits are just as good is pretty subjective however. IMO there are only a few units I would consider buying.

Amps are made overseas where labor is cheaper, very few amps still made in the usa. You can still get quality product like you could back in the day but you have to dig a little deeper.

I havent used any of the new rockford stuff but from what I understand its still quality and a good product but hopefully someone else can help you out there.
