Upgrading my system(New Install)

Its been several months since my last install and I'm thinking of stepping up and changing out a few things in my current system. Mostly things that aren't working properly.

Heres my current plan for upgrading.

- New set of sub woofers (I will be selling off my current CompVT 12" sub woofers and purchasing a pair of Kicker CompVX 12" sub woofers.

- To compliment this, I will be building a new box to encompass the sub woofers and to use the maximum amount of space as possible behind the seat.

- Also I will be replacing the broken Hifonics 1000w amplifier that is currently powering the subwoofers with its beefier brother, the Hifonics 1505d to supply the two subwoofers with 750watts RMS.

Also I will upgrading the Big 3 and perhaps even the entire wiring of the system to 1/0 gauge. 1/0 gauge coming from the battery to the distribution blocks which I will change to two KnuKonceptz Konfused blocks, which may also be used to fuse certain segments of the Big 3 wiring.

Another hiccup in my past setup is/was the Kenwood Excelon KDC-x791, which even though it performs flawlessly now, ran into quite a few problems dealing with its wiring and possible alternator whine issue originating from its chipset aswell as an issue causing it to have a "USB Error" randomly.

All the kinks and bugs have kinda made me skeptical about buying items off Ebay due to the faulty amplifier(which was purchased from Sonic Electronix), the issues concerning HU, and also my midbass of the component set mysteriously burning out on me.

But my current shopping list is as follows.

2x Kicker CVX 12" 2-Ohm Sub Woofer

Hifonics Txi1505d Class D Mono Amplifier

Kolussus 1/0 Gauge Wire

3x KonFused 2-Way Distribution Blocks

Possibly some dampening material(I forgot which was the best brand to get)

As far as a HU goes, these are the decks Im possibly considering.

Sony MEX-1GP

Alpine 9885

Any suggestions or tips are welcomed.

i'm guessing you want to run the hifonics @ 1 ohm? if so you'd want 2 dual 4 ohm subs in order to wire to 1 ohm...
good catch, an OP i would go with the new bxi1605 instead of the txi, have heard all great things about the newer line of hifonics, either way u wont get stated power from either 1.

dont even look at that sony 4 a hu:(.
I agree try to stay far away from sony when it comes to audio. But anyway the compVX's are good joints, I heard them a while ago. There suppose to be like the L7's just round of course! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah that was a typo.

The main issue with the amplifier is where it is currently placed which is underneath the driver's seat; so I need something that can fit in that space which is where the Brutus fails and the Titan prevails.

As far as stated power, as long as it juices the subwoofers enough to properly power them, I'll be happy. Alot better than the current amplifier which requires all the gains/bass eq/bass boost and whatever other loudening features to actually get the bass fairly audible but distorting it heavily.
