haunted places?

Couple weeks back i went to the stanley hotel in colorado springs, thats the place where steven king got his inspiration for the shining... It was pretty weird there, they say that there are over 100 ghost that live in the hotel... Got some orbs on camera, but I dont have the camera we got them on
Still a pretty cool place
Yeah, I knew that hotel was supposed to be haunted. Remember when Stephen King released his own version of The Shining(Kubrick did the original) on TV several years ago? It, like the original, was filmed at the Stanley Hotel. I remember reading stories where many of the grunts who worked on the film(big, strapping guys) were spooked-out many times when they felt something sit or lie down on their bed while they were going to sleep. All kinds of crazy stuff happened while they were filming.

Remember Andrew Cunanan? He was the gay serial killer who eventually shot designer Gianni Versace in Miami in '97. Well, if you may remember he killed a cemetary worker in Southern NJ before he made the trek down to Florida. Well, that cemetary is in my hometown(Pennsville) and I've been there many times. I even grew up with a guy who's father was once the caretaker of the cemetary. I was inside the house which years later was plastered all over the news and Dateline did a full-length feature on. It was kinda surreal...it's one of the last places that you'd expect for that kind of story to take place.

Fort Mott State Park is in the same area(and it's on the http://www.sjgr.org site as well). As kids, we were all over the tunnels and stairways of the old fort(which are now off-limits o the public) and I laughed when the sjgr team explored the main tunnel in one of their investigations since I always got a strange feeling

in that area. I just figured it was my imagination getting the better of me....apparently not:D

There's a really scary place in Louisville,KY...the stuff I've read about that place will make make your skin crawl. I find this stuff fascinating but I don't think I'd ever go anywhere near that place(it's condemned anyway). I'll come back with the link. The place is called Waverly ?....it was used to treat tuberculosis patients.

We went to MichiganHauntedPlaces.com or whatever the site is and printed it out it gives a city by city detailed description of what they are and we went to almost ALL of them senior year in Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland County Michigan. We did see some scary stuff and some places we went to didn't have shit. Nothing scares me more then my work. I KNOW it's haunted, don't care what anybody tells me. I've seen doors open and close, lights go on and off, water pumps go on by themselves. My boss even thought he'd seen somebody one night when he came in to open the shop a couple hours early and he called out to them and they turned around and walked around a corner and when he went after them there wasn't anybody there. He called the cops and they searched the entire building and even stopped production and they found nothing. I've even seen the police report. I work midnights at the Northwest end of the building all by myself and the only other 3 guys in the building the whole night with me are about 200 yards on the other side of the building. I ALWAYS have a very weird overwhelming feeling like I'm being watched. I know it isn't my imagination I can tell the difference because sometimes I have it and sometimes it's REALLY strong like it's right next to me. A couple people died there before it was bought by our company. Good thing I only have to work there for two more weeks.....

I watch alot of this kind of stuff on tv. I saw somethin the other night about the jersey devil. Some freaky shit. Do a google search on it and check out some of the listings they have.

I love to read or watch stuff like this. But I dont know if I would want to go visit some of the places around.

Wallahalla Drive: the legend of this street is torn between a hanging ******* and a murder-******* by a crazed father. The activity ranges from "-G" effects to stallings, screams from all directions and LVL 5's jumping into the road in front of drivers.
This place is neat - I used to go there as a kid and pick Fool's Gold out of the shale along the walls under the bridge. It's a narrow winding street. All the houses are up on hills, it's kind of like it's own little valley. A favorite spot around halloween, and yep - pretty f*cking

creepy at night.

Lots of car accidents, it's very difficult to drive there.

I've heard it was a mother who hung her children from the bridge, and some other variations thereof.

I forgot to mention. My wife and I visited Salem,MA last October and took in one of their nightly ghost tours....a really cool experience.

One of the last places on the tour was the old jail(which has been closed since the mid-80's). When my eyes were able to adjust and focus on the structure I could feel my hair standing on end...the place was spooky. The guide said quite a few things have happened to people on the tour when they've been standing there looking at the place. There was once a sewing factory on the other side of the jail which had burned to the ground a long time ago. It was used during the time before child labor laws had been enacted and quite a few young girls worked at the place when the fire claimed their lives. Child-bearing age women have been touched on numerous occasions....even our guide has had her coat pulled several times over the years. Supposedly, there are spirits of the girls wandering around still looking for their mothers.

There's also a street in Salem(the name escapes me) where the ghost tours refuse to visit. It's supposed to be the most haunted area of the town and not for the timid.

I find this stuff fascinating but there are some things which I don't think you should fool around with.

I'm just glad to see so many of you being open-minded about this stuff. I'm 46 so I've had more experience with death and general life experiences than the typical guy who visits this site.

The only way someone could get me to visit one of these haunted places. Is if I have at least 10 people with me. That way if these "hauntings" are real, I have a somewhat better chance to escape. The creature or what ever it is that would be doing the haunting would have a better choice of who the hell it wants to **** with. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

haha. that's my feelings on the subject. i'd rather have a group with me (being 5 to 7 people). i don't want an overly sized group. that way we have multiple witnesses and when "it" "attacks" or "messes" with someone, the other 4 of us can bale on them and run like hell.
The only thing you have to remember.....is make sure a few of the people are fat. At least you can outrun them easier that way. lol

The onyl thing I never understood. Is why no one ever carries a gun or anything. Even if its something paranormal, I would feel alot better know at least I got off a few rounds before I ran.

Or if it is just someone ****ing with people. All I would have to say is, I thought my life was in danger.

I would just feel alot better knowing I have some sort of weapon with me.IMO

Its better to have it, and not use it, then not have it and need it. Right?

Just a thought

I'm from South Jersey and I've always been open-minded but I never felt the Jersey Devil legend was anything more than a crock of sh*t. I've lived in the Atlantic City area for roughly 25 years and I even know one of the Leeds descendants. There's even a road(Jimmy Leeds Road in Galloway Twp) named after one of the family members. The Leeds name is very well-known around Atlantic County.

The Jersey Devil is engrained in South Jersey lore. Like I said, I'm VERY open-minded(read my previous posts in this thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ) but I never felt the story was anything more than an old folk's tale. Who knows? It sure is interesting.

My aunt and uncle own a Bed & Breakfast in Chillicothe,OH. They renovated the entire 150-year old home and my uncle(now deceased...and the one our daughter claims has visited her on two occasions) often talked about being visited my someone when he was doing work on the place late at night. He wasn't scared of it and he would just say something to the effect of, "I'm here to do good" since he assumed it was the previous owner just checking on the place. His oldest son swears he saw a woman wave to him in the upstairs window when he visited the place for the first time. He thought it was his stepmother until he learned that nobody was in the house at the time. The look on his face was hilarious:D
