I just wanted to take time out to thank all you guys for you help and input i started my 96 explorer. I did get in some jams during the process of all my installations, but I always ran to my computer , and I came to this forum for my answers. I thank you guys for the quick response, and all your "KNOW HOW" skills. After i just finished installing my comps, I had a older guy that I use to piss off with my subs all the time say something positive to me about my truck with its new mods. I changed to a older CD that had alot of old R&B stuff on it. A song called "LETS GROVE TONITE" by Earth Wind and Fire, and with the new comps , the bass did not drown out the mids and highs, and the trumpets in this song is just outragously clear. So the old dude comes out of his house, and sits his drive way, and just starts moving to my old cd, and saus to me, "Young Buck, thats what you call music, and I must say, that shit you have in there now sounds like some concert shit" After hearing him say that, made all the sweat and frustration worth it! Oh by the way, for you guys who think that the comps are not the way to go, you are seriouly cheating your self. I hooked up 2 pairs of comps to day, just to see how awful the Power Bass set would be, and i have to tell you guys, the Power Bass Comps stood there ground, The Power Bass 3XL series went up against some CDT EF-61 FG. The Power Bass 3XL only hold 120w rms, I gave them a pure 100w from my Kicker KX 800.4 and they were as clean as clean can be at high volume. Then we put in the CDT's with the same amp and settings, I have to say, there wasnt any major difference. I know im new to the front stage area, but I go with what my own ears tell me, and Im sure there are better comps out there, but these 2 sets I have will do just fine for me with my KX 800.4. I took a chance on the Power Bass, because I got the "HOOK UP", I paid 75.00 bucs for this set of comps, and it was a steal. Once again, thanks for your help and advice guys!!
