Hard hitting subs for 04 Silverado

So I'm in the process of redoing my entire system and about the only thing I cant decide on is what subs to use.

Right now I am running a single 12" P3 in a ported box with the seat raised and it was alright at first but its just not enough anymore.

I have several ideas but with space being an issue its difficult to decide, the only thing I am set on is not removing the seat

I have been leaning towards 2 of the 13.5 jl shallow mounts, or 2 12" l7s in a sealed box or ported if possible...

What I would like to have is 2 gnarly 12s in a ported box that will hit hard enough to make people feel uncomfortable and still sound great (impossible)...

I have been looking at sundown but I'm not too sure on them or which ones to get

I am open to suggestions that will help me with my dilemma

budget will determine how loud you get. Need dollar figures here. Along with how much space you are actually going to give up. Again need dimensions LxWxH

The box I have now is 54L/13.75W/8.5&7.5H so that's about all the space I have to work with...

I can prob raise the seat some more but I am not sure how much yet maybe a half to a full inch would be my best guess....

The jls were the highest prices subs I was looking at and they are 600 a piece and those are shallow mounts, but I would like to not have to spend over a 1,200 on 2 subs that may not give me what I'm looking for which is why I'm looking for other options.....I would like to stay ported but I'm not opposed to a sealed setup

You can buy a 5000$ sub and it'll still sound like garbage if you dont have enough airspace in the enclosure for it to actually perform. You cannot expect to cram as much subs in a tight space and actually think you'll get loud because of it. You have enough room for 1 good 12 or 2 monster 8s thats all. Wheter you get loud or not depends on how good your install is as in if you can make a proper custom ported box for it.

Dont even think of cramming L7s in a sealed box, they HATE small boxes. output would be near zero.

I'd say get a monster 12 and a **** ton of power. Sundown Audio Zv4-12 1750W Zv4 Series - SSA STORE

Spend the rest of the money on a proper amp, Custom ported enclosure, AGM battery and 0 gauge wiring along with 1/0 big 3 kit.

There is absolutely no point in spending a lot of money on subs and cheaping the eff out on the enclosure. Get a properly engineered design and get a local guy to build it.

I know what you mean about not having to spend a lot of money to have a good setup.....I think I got about 800$ in my setup(amp, box, & sub) and it was all built around the p3 I have now and it sounds good I just need more haha....

What amp would you recommend for that SA?

I already have the 0 gauge wiring, and I am also thing about running a second batt and getting an alt upgrade

I also have a 1 fared cap I am thinking about using since I have it

Sell that cap, its utterly useless.

as for amps, you can go with a Q1-2200D or a sundown 2500 or the 3500 version of the soundqubed amp. The sub will take all the power you can give it.

See if you can squeeze a bit more room for the box, you'll need at least 2 cubic feet of net usuable airspace for that sub. As of now, you only have 2 cubic feet gross meaning after accounting in port and sub displacement you'll only have 1..3-1.5 cubic feet of usable airspace which is still suffocating the sub. It needs 2.5 cubic feet NET after everything accounted in for.

That's basically what I'm working with now, I can prob get some more height out of the seat but will that monster SA be able to fit in there?

BTW I also listen to a lot of metal would that sub be ok with that haha
