Happy Memorial Day

cutting yourself?

"For some reason, a couple times this week people have come up to me and asked about my scars. I feel like it's impossible to not know what they came from. I've given the funny story of shark attack, or bear fight. But the truth is that, while I wasn't battling a creature, I was battling demons that were far greater. Since I've developed a sort of following recently, I wanted to post this as an act of confidence. It's taken me a long time to realize that my body is mine and I can't switch it out for anyone else's. Not to say I'm entirely ecstatic my body is mine, but who is? My scars have always been an insecurity. I avoid short sleeves, and my hands almost never leave my sides. Which I realize now is stupid. This is me, this my past. This is part of what makes me such a rad individual. So if you have scars, embrace them. They are a part of you. And this sounds so cliche and gross and I hate it but honestly, love yourself and all parts of you, because you're all you've got."

Plenty of people recommend bcae.1. There's even a sticky recommending noobs go there and read up. What I love is when people make ignorant comments about this forum when they clearly haven't bothered to READ this forum. Dumbass.
