when i bought my car few years ago i put my xfl's in and they worked fine barely any dimming.

over the year or so my lights would dim so bad that it looked like i was flashing people.

would a stock alt with maybe 2 extra batteries be enough to power a hfi 3000d? 3000 watts rms at 1 ohm. i would probably be getting 1200-1300 to each sub.

is it possible to run a 3000 watt system with stock alt and 2 batteries with a big 3?

alt is original heh. battery is maybe 1-2 years old.

i do believe the current stock alt is just about done.

i do not have subs in my car at the moment. and just regular speakers make my head unit dim when bass hits and i dont have anything turned up alot. 30% music volume.

when i turn on my fan for heater the lights dim.

when i hold the window button to go up i can see the luminescent lights at the buttons dim for a second.

i can get a new stock alt for $100

lets say i get a new stock alt and 2 batteries total. with big 3 would it be sufficient

but having a stock alt with a xtra 2 batteries wont be sufficient for bigger power consumptions?

i have seen people running a 2500 watt RMS system off of a stock alt with big 3 and 1 xtra battery. no problems

They have problems. If not than they don't have 2500 watts. Batteries only help at 12.6v. Unless they are 14-16v batteries but that's a different ball game. You are talking about averaging 200 amps of draw, where does that come from at 14v?

The vehicle was never mentioned here..or what size/what amperage the alt is?? Im in a 98 crv for my daily,,running a stock 110 alt with the big 3 and two agm Oriley batts with LED bypass.Old school Mmats @2ohm with 1500 rms on a pair of SQ hd300 10s in 4.0@32 htz,and a 2ch old school Cross Fire 100.2,and shell down to 13.2 on a low.Not a real struggle, yet ,a larger alt would serve much better, and be less stressful on my batts and electrical to last longer.But,3k TRUE RMS,a good 200+ amp alt and two agm batts would be ideal

i have a 07 charger i think i have the 140 amp alt.

my amp is not true rms rated. it is probably pushing out 1200 to each sub.

i could buy a new alt from rockauto 160 amps for like $70 which i was planning on doing anyways. hell. my buddy has the old school i pipes running on a 2400 watt rms amp stock alt in a jimmy with a small kinetic 600 bat and a cap and his **** doesnt even really dim.
