well, i have fought him but hes scared of me, last time i swang at him he duct and i made a hole in the wall and he ran behind the counter and my mom started crying and screaming and i dont want to give her a hard time bcuz i love her to death.

Try to find a connection. Ive taken my dad to rehab plenty of times, but we've gotten over that, and now he and I both love to work on my car. It was the first real bonding experience we've ever had, which explains to you all as to why I am so utterly obssesed and protective of my car.

We used to argue alot because he thinks hes the best, he always tells me "You know this doesnt happen to me, because i know what i do" "What are you doing! You dont know shit!" He always puts me down when i do my caraudio shit... and well when i do it and he recognizes it he comes around and says heh and leaves... we cant even move in into a house bcuz he says he cant afford it, but i know its bullshit hes just scared to do it bcuz its a big step wich hes never taken in life. hes scared to step forward and hes scared to show his emotions i know it, but i have spoken to him many times and he still wont change. he just thinks hes the best gift of god.

My dad doesnt like anything, all he likes to do is work work and work... for what? for nothing bcuz we live in a town house and only pay for one car, (05 dodge durango) only days hes happy is when hes drinking beers with his friends and then hes like "you know what im tinting ur windows tommorow" tommorow comes around and i tell him "wuzzup dad u wanna go tint the windows?" and hes like "heh ur crazy" and walks away...

You guys are ****ing dumb. Poor chinny has a problem, dont be another one.

My dad is pretty much the same way, except not as bad. Your dad is probably very jealous of your success, that he never had anything like that, car stereos and such... His niche is working and saving moneyy to support his family, what he knows. Even if you can afford a house, hes so used to living on the edge all of the time that as you said he can't make the step up.

You have to play on his niche, step in his shoes. Always be interested in what his work is like, admire him for the work he does. It may **** to listen to but might help you get a better relationship going.

Worth a shot, better than knocking him out.
