Guess where the cheapest gas is?

Gas was 2.83 last time I got it....it's ridiculous. The screwy thing isn't the price, because we're still behind a lot of the world and we've got huge transportation cost, but that it's more than doubled in the past 3 years....

Ignorant statement. I hate bush more than you can imagine, I disagree with nearly all of his policies and principles, but you can't blame the gas on him too heavily.

Gas prices have been lagging behind inflation rates for a long time now, and the price right now is close to the level it "should" be at. Also, one reason it's jumping so much now is because China is developing into an ecomonic superpower, and consuming more gas. We aren't able to demand prices as low any more because China, and other developing nations, are paying more, and there's no reason to sell it to us that cheap.

I don't see how you can think that when a new president is elected then the gas prices will go down. Like what swimfreak said, a lot of it is inflation.

I also don't see how you think that if everyone were to stay home for one day, that the US would "realize how much money they lose". One day's worth of gas saved isn't going to help or hurt anything.

Please explain.

gas around me is about $2.79 it gets up past the $3.00 mark once i get into san francisco. when i move out of my unles house here in a few months im planning on getting a place near some sort of mass transit so my truck can sit at home.
