Group 4D Batteries?

I found a ton on deals of these giant batteries for around $300 and was wondering if anyone uses them? The only drawback I see is their size (132 POUNDS), but for $300 its cheaper to go with one of these than say 2 group 31 batts. Any input on these monsters?

Whew, looks like a great battery...wonder how long the life span is on one of those. Website doesnt say what temp they work great in either. Only way to find out is to try it.

I used to run Deka 8Ds... and trust me you can stack up Deka 9A31s to actually end up with MORE capacity for the same weight.

that would be funny, any money they make they would be out paying for their hernia operation.

Its going behind my box which alone weighs a good 150 pounds with the sub in it and I'm going to be securing that with L brackets. Once it goes in, it aint coming out.

Big batteries like that have huge reserve, but not the super fast discharge/recharge that a smaller battery has. Not what you would want to use when chasing tenths on a burp, but for a daily streetbeater thats playing music for long periods of time, they are great.

Theres a place in Tampa with batteries for dirt cheap. I had 3 of these Lifelines, and they rocked. Were 162lbs. Group 8D FTW. Only cost like $90 each. Hahaha.

I said this already, then looked at the batteries in question. They are AGM not gel, so they discharge/charge the same as group 31 AGMs. I wiped most of my post out because of that.

Yes, I love my Deka 9A31s, and most people can get two for the price of a mid-line Kinetik.

To the OP my old 8Ds were 172 lbs...I'd like to see someone try to take those out of a truck:laugh:

I would just go with two of these or an 8D but I don't think my suspension let alone my gas mileage would approve. Hopefully my measurements check out and I will be picking that 4D in the link up.
