Ground Wire Length

i want to upgrade my battery to chasis ground

factory ground is like 4ga.

i want to make use of my 2/0 wire. in order for me to use 2/0, the wire length has to be a little longer than stock wire length, reason, 2/0 is kinda hard to bend and fit in stock location (battery in trunk )

3-4 inches over stock lenth i would say.

by adding these extra inches, would this defeat the purpose of the upgrade ?

or am i just totally nuts, and go ahead and do the upgrade?

The last wire is the Bat pos to alternator. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif Man!!!, it is sure hard to get that done on this car. I think I am going to need some help from my bro in law. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

So far I noticed that my lights don't dim when I am driving //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/driving.gif.c4dead4599dda895032b63e51f52b126.gif & bumping it hard. Only thing is that when I am idle, & I try to do the same, I get the lights dimming.

My kicker kx400.1 doesn't power off to go into safe mode because seems that I am not getting voltage drops anymore. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Question, once I have the final wire connected & I still notice the dimming when I am idle, when bumping hard of course, can my next course of action be getting a yellow, blue, red top battery? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif

Since I don't get a problem when I am driving //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/driving.gif.c4dead4599dda895032b63e51f52b126.gif , only when I am idle, would it be safe to assume that HO alternator upgrade isn't needed?
