Ground Runs

I have an Alpine MRV-M500 and a PPI P900.4 in my setup. Should I run Grounds from them, to a distribution block, all the way to my batter ground. Or should it be fine it I just ran grounds to the chassis off the amps?

If doing a run all the way back to the battery ground is best, how much of a difference would it make?

how about getting a DMM and testing your grounding points to see which one is best?
