ground noise from intrepid

I just finished installing the door and rear deck speakers and the sub. I have 4 ga. power and ground running to a MTX 4405. The ground is bolted to a bare metal surface under the seat. The problem is, when the key is turned to acc. everything is fine, when you start the car, you get a nasty buzz sound out of the all the speakers except the sub. I changed grounds twice, once on the seatbuckle bolt and now on the floor under the seat, I sanded the metal and bolted it down. I have Monstercable RCA's with the ground on them and that is connected to a piece behind the dash. I am totally lost, any help would be much appreciated!

are your rca's and power wire running on the same side? change that if they are.

behind the rear seat is a big metal support type thing, i had my stuff grounded there and all went just fine.

That won't make a difference. That is a myth.

Try disconnecting the RCA ground. If that doesn't work, try regrounding the headunit.

I got it! I did as you said, squeak. I disconnected the RCA ground, and the that didn't change it, so when I disconnected the HU, the little spade plug for the ground fell out of the plastic main plug. I don't think it was ever making contact. Plugged it back in and all works fine. Thanks for the help from all!
