I found this flowchart on Power Acoustik. It's an excellent diagram to follow when you have ground loop issues.

Before you get started, check the fluid in your car battery. Sometimes, noise can be eliminated just by topping off the fluid with distilled water!

I like how they just suggest filters. Those cover up the problem, they don't actually fix the problem.

Not really. It typically first suggests you try something to resolve the issue. If you still have the problem, then it suggests a filter.

The main thing it should say is to try a new ground on your HU, though, when the receiver is the problem.
