Ya they will limit current going to amp. Make sure that your amp, h/u, crossover, are mounted so they are not touching ground. Check the back of the h/u to see if its touching any metal in the car. SIngle point grounding is better than mulitiple. try a different ground point.

Most ground isolators use a cheap transformer to couple the signals and give isolation. You will lose frequency response at both ends.
