Ground Location for Sundown SAZ 2500d

Hello people. I have a 2005 Impala and am planning on re-grounding my Sundown SAZ 2500d. Before it was grounded with 1/0 gauge to thin sheet metal near the spare tire well. I have been told by many that I need a better ground for such a beefy amp. Would the strut tower or seat belt holder bolt be a good ground? I only have a single D3400 up front and don't want to add another in the trunk. Please give me your insight on this. Thanks everyone. - Andrew

I thought that ground wires need to be as short as possible. But you guys are saying its ok to run a 10 foot wire up to the front battery? This car is unibody so that makes sense just wanted to confirm it. Thanks guys.

I currently only have 1 fuse at the battery positive (1 foot away) running back to the amp in the trunk. Will I still have to fuse the negative line that I run as well?

Thank you. I have a DC power 300 amp alt, Big 3 1/0 gauge, and XS D3400 and was still getting a little bit of dimming. I will fix the ground and report back as I 'm hoping the dimming will be reduced. My BTL 15 is at 1 ohm. Do you guys think I need another battery? Sorry for all of these questions this is one of the first times I installed a system over 1,000 watts.

For the Big 3 I just added 0 gauge wires to the existing negative ground bolt to the negative post and then added a wire from engine block to that same bolt as well. Is this correct? I will look into some g31 batteries if the dimming is not greatly reduced

Depends where is the ground bolt .?..i do battery to frame ..battery to alt bolt ground and a power run from pos batt to alt wire

U can get deka g31 blems for 80 bucks or so

Ground bolt is a couple inches away from battery tray on the frame of the car. I just added 2 1/0 gauge wires to go to the negative battery post and engine block from that same bolt. I also have a run from alt positive to battery positive with 300A ANL fuse
