Ground issue?

Was driving home today bumping away when my sub made a quick pop noise and then there was no bass, so i turned it down and it popped back on. Got home and if i turn it up past 24 it puts the amp into protect. Never had this problem and now its messing up. Could i have a loose ground maybe? I thought it may be voltage dropping to much but it doesn't dim my lights at all and the gauge doesn't dip when its on, so has me wondering wtf it is.

What amp is on your subs? What make/model?

Its a kicker zx400.1 on one of the se's . Haven't put the new box in yet so only running the one.

It sounds like you have an ground issue...but if other people are having the same issue its probably the amp
