I am setting up a varad scanner and i don't nkow what to ground it too?

It says ground it to something that is only grounded when the power is off? where is that? or can i power it only when the power is turned off?! Make sense?

Anyone ever set this up before?? PLEASE HELP!

yes it will, think about ... ill draw a pic

It will always be grounded, now will it always be on? That depends if the switch is on or off

edit:::

o wait sorry, i read ? wrong

i think you have me mind backwards, think about it....if it is always grounded then it is always on, i am not going to add a switch for that..i already have 6 running throughout my car!

my remote wire comes from my deck, which is on, when the car is on, i need it on when the car is off.

Is it one of those blue scanners? Does it have the three wires, black, red, and yellow? Because what i did was hooked the black to the body, red to a constant power supply, and wired the yellow into the fuse box into a fuse that is hot with the car on, and cold when the car is off(meaning when the car is off so is the fuse).

Yeah, it works. Cause how those scanners work is that when it detects power from the yellow wire it shuts the scanner off because it thinks the car is on. So just test a fuse with on to see if it is hot, then turn it off to see if it is cold. Then wire in the yellow wire with the fuse. What i did was wrap the end of the wire on the blade of the fuse, and then put the fuse back in.
