Great, Someone stole my receiver

You have to first understand, I have an old car that is a rusted but runs great. It's 19 years old and runs in excellent condition. My head unit was a JVC that was made in 1999.

Well last night I come from walmart about 11:30pm and through the whole night I listen to music and chilled in my apartment till about 4:00am when I go to sleep. Well I wake up at 2:00pm today and I take a shower for plans to study for a test and prepare for a speech. I go out to my car today at 4:00pm and I find my:

- glove compartment open

- Wires hanging out of my dash.

- My passengers side door open

- Only my front two doors unlocked

- and finally my passenger side door lock all busted

I'm so fucking pissed I can't believe someone stole a headunit that would only have an ebay value of $20-$30. I live in an apartment community that is very large and has their own security. No cameras are anywhere. My car is only worth $1500-$2000. I had my car parked in my carport.

Funny thing is that there is a 2006 honda civic, a 2007 impala SS, and a 2004 volkwagon GTI parked next to me and everything was good with those cars.

Any advice.

By investigating it seems that one person opened the locked by force on the passengers door and then unlocked the drivers door from the inside to let a friend in to help them steal it. They even stole the case for the faceplate. So I'm guessing there was more than one person involved.

Edit: Also, my car has only two 3.5 inch speakers working. I do not have any subwoofers in the car and my music is inaudible outside of the vehicle.

Yup.

That theft-deterrent design works great when you not only leave it attached to the HU but allow any potential thieves access to the case as well.

At least you're considerate to your local crackheads. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sorry to hear it happened, though...

It there is one thing I've learned over the years it's that thieves will pretty much steal anything. Just keep telling yourself that one day you will catch one in the act and he will receive not only the beating that he deserves but also the beating that all of the others should have gotten. I sure do feel sorry for that poor ****er.
