Got pulled over today for first time - Got ticket

i live in florida, the cops are full of it, i got a ticket from a motorcycle cop leaving the school parking lot for my car stereo being too loud, he didnt have a meter to tell how loud it was, is there any other way that they can give you a ticket for that besides a meter?

they could give you a ticket for disturbing the peace. they do that alot where i live. in michigan they've been getting bad about speeding. 20 over is reckless driving and a felony. when i got busted for reckless driving i took the cop to court and he didn't show up and i automatically won the case. most of the time you won't be that lucky though

20 over is a felony!??! So you get sentanced to a year + in prison for speeding!?!? Thats a littel hard to believe, you can do 250mph hour in california and as long as you dotn hurt anyone you still wont get a felony. This is straight from a CHP officer. In califronia they dont need any meters, if you can hear it from 50ft away its a ticket. I dont know how they do it in other states. Could be the same?

what pisses me off is today i was driving behind a cop and infront of him was this car going like 50 in a 35 and he didn't do shit. off duty cop? cause i know it was a honda cause i can hear the exhaust on the **** thing.

today after school i watched him sit there and counted like 5 cars wit good systems goin drive pass him.... i hate cops sometimes

if you ask to see the radar, the law states they have to show it to you here in ga. and they have to show you the calibration reports. if you don't ask for them at the time you are recieving the ticket however, you aren't entitled to that right. its a messde up system. i'd hope the cop doesn't show. then if he does, plead no-lo contiendre(sp?) thats about your only two outs at this point. good luck either way.

In cali the calibration isn't every day, it's more like every three days. And you dont have to axe for the cal. report when he issues the ticket, you can take him to court and then axe for it. BTW did you say, out loud, the speed you were going. For example:

CHP "How fast do you think you were going"

You "Im not sure, I think about 85, but my speedo is messed up"

If you did then you just shot yourself in the foot. They press the button to their radio when they ask you and it gets recorded. My dad is a cop over here in Folsom, so I know a bunch of random police stuff (cali anyway)

PS You were speeding and got a ticket that you desserved, my advice is to just man up to what you did and accept the punishment, its not like they're going to send you to federal pound you in the *** prison or anything
