Got pulled over on my GSXR... Is this right?

Are you about to give the " well im 35 years old and have had my experience" speech? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Actually *coughs* Smart A$$ *coughs* //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'm 26, have had my bike for less than 6 months.

That being said, I always wear my gear, took the MSF class and get my bike checked out to make sure it is right at all service times.

All I'm saying is be careful. If you have no money, what you gonna do if you lay that thing down? A side panel for my ducati is over 500 bucks, yours will not be too much cheaper.

In all seriousness, you need to learn to be responsible for the equipment you operate. If not. Sell it. B/c your gloves were in the compartment, that makes them not where they should be, on your hands. Your 5 miles down the road argument is weak b/c most accidents happen within a few miles of your home. I hope you man up and pay the fine and start thinking about where your choices will land you.

What the hell else would i do? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif I have to pay the fine regardless, the point of this post is to ask if im going to get points for what happened, and should i go to court for it or just pay it?

I hear everyone talking about how stupid people are riding these bikes and everyone that owns one breaks it in at one time. Everyone says the same thing about riding gear, speeding, stunting, but in the end if you had one youd do it to (dont lie).

Whats the verdict? Anyone have this fine before on a motorcycle or car?

Riding to my boys place, im almost there (like half mile), i passed a car infront of me, and a state cop was coming the other way, but wayyy up the road. I slowed down to the speed limit, he went past me, then hit his brake lights. Knowing what was about to happen, i laid on it... i get literally 200 yards from my destination and a very slow truck with a trailor behind it carrying some sort of farm equipment pulls out, into both lanes, and im forced to slow down. I got stuck behind him until the cop ride right up onto my ass. Knowing i havnt done anything i can get ticketed for, i just put my turn signal on and pull onto my buddies road. At the same time, he throws the siren on and lights em up.
I don't understand how you think you didn't do anything wrong, you say you were speeding (otherwise you wouldn't have to slow to the speed limit) and you laid on it to try and get away. The cop should have gone harder on you. Last time I checked you can get a ticket for speeding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suicide.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

yes you will get at least one point if you pay it or lose in court. fight it, but if the cop shows up your screwed

although it was only numerous warnings, if you fight it the cop will probably bring them up in court making it known he was leniant with you. then odds are the judge will make you pay the fine and suspend your license for being stupid enough to argue

make sure you update us on how the court system screwed you over and you didnt deserve it in a few months

OP, look online for what gets you points and what doesn't. State laws differ.

Well i have an 05 gsxr 600, my tires are practically bald and my sticker has been out...since 05... but not because of my choice, simply because of my budget, i cant afford tires right now so i wont pass regardless. Anyways....here it goes
At the same time, he throws the siren on and lights em up.

He told me he pulled me over for my licenseplate and registration not being visible. Now, keep in mind that my plate ISNT in the stock position, but it IS visible NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE. It is mounted high, even if your laying on the ground 3 feet behind the bike you can still read it perfect.

I got:

Ticket for no inspection ($107.50)

Warnings for:

- Not wearing gloves (never heard of this)

- No licenseplate light (it was 7pm,but still)

- Licenseplate not visible (********)

- Registration not visible ("")

- Unsigned registration papers

I DO have a permit, i DO have insurance, i DO have it registered.

Is this legal? For a cop to pull a U turn on a public road, simply because he profiled me and thought i was doing something wrong? He then pulled me over, saying he couldnt see my plate, simply because i had done nothing wrong, and i guarentee he just wanted me to run. Cops here just have a hardon for crotchrockets. The first thing he told me was that i am being recorded both audio and video.

Regardless, i dont have the money to pay the ticket, i am debating if i should pay it, or plead not guilty. If nothing else i can go and appologize, and the fine (should) go down atleast a little bit.

Will i get points for this ticket? This is what im very concerned about, if i get 1 more point, my license will be taken away.

Any help? What should i do?
Um yes he can and they will do that. You trying to zoom off when you knew he had you doesn't bode well in my eyes either. He wrote you tickets for things you are guilty of and you want to fight it? If you can't afford a required inspection then break out the NIKEs. I highly doubt the Judge will reduce your ticket if you go to court, but good luck I guess.

Actually i havnt refreshed the page until now. The inspection has been out since i bought this bike is all, it says 05 on it. I got this one about a month ago and just havnt gotten it done yet, i havent had it since 05 when it ran out. I have moved the plate farther up and put the light on as well. I can take pictures tomorrow evening of where it was, ill hang a piece of paper. And i was NOT evading police, i didnt do anything for him to turn around, he hit his BRAKE LIGHTS so i sped up so i was around the corner. He never turned his siren and blue and red lights on until i had already turned off the road after he had been following me for 200 yards.
Did i miss something?

Oh... i have my bike permit, this is the only time ive gotten pulled over on a motorcycle. I have points from an at fault accident which i got too fast for conditions at the same time (i was doing speed limit on a wet road and hydroplaned), and a 72 mph in a 65 on PA turnpike.
Could you contradict yourself some more? He doesn't have to flip the lights on right after getting behind you. They quite often follow and run the tags to see if they should bother with it or leave it alone. He obviously saw a need to pull you over, oh thats right, no inspections and expired paperwork will do that. IDIOT! Had he pulled your number up and found no previous problems or obvious violation he may have just let you go.
I want to know how speeding up while knowing he was gonna tail you, isn't evading? You even admitted the only reason you didn't get to evade is because a truck blocked you. Your intent was still there douchebomb.

Well, the police officer can't just do whatever he wants. You do have rights, even to remain silent. He can, by law, issue citations and warnings if you are not in compliance with the codes. You see, when you take off when you saw him, a "light bulb" goes off in his head thats telling him that there may be a reason that you all of a sudden are gunning it when you see him. Of course he can do an u turn and as long as he has probable cause he can pull you over and search you, with probable cause. It will be worse for you if you DON'T show up to court and even worse if you don't pay the tickets on time, they will issue a warrant for you arrest and suspend your DL. So just go to court on the date and time specified on the citation. The court will most likely have a clerk there and you CAN make payment arrangements with them, they may put you on a payment plan. You can also get a lawyer, but I don't know what good that's going to do, unless you can prove everything was "ligit" when you were pulled over. Keep your license plate and the registration sticker exactly where they belong on the motorcycle otherwise they will keep messing with you. And when you state that he gave you a ticket for "No Inspection" ? What does that mean, like no emissions or what ? Because I know for a fact that you cannot get registration if you don't pass emissions. Anyway man, show up for court and good luck, get your papers signed and make payment arrangements for the $107 that you owe.

i still maintain you are an idiot.

and plaese refer back to my previous post to try and answer some more questions... im going to guess you are between the ages of 16 and 18, still living with mommy and daddy, because who in their right mind would spend EVERY CENT they have on a luxury like a motorcycle and not have any money to fall back on...

if you cant afford to maintain the bike, or pay for the consequences that came with improper maitenance, you shouldnt be able to afford to buy the bike... that wasnt a very smart move, was it? either sell the bike, or your car stereo to pay the fine, buy new tires, get the bike inspected, and buy a jacket... my advice is still with selling the bike...

You can tell that Smoken is a young buck. He is just going to have to learn the hard way, get a job that offers overtime everyweek, or get two jobs. It's only $107, one could probably make that in a day. I think Smoken is just super ticked off that a boat car like the cop's Crown Victoria catched up to him, cause the ticket isn't even for that much money at all. And yes, be thankful to the cop he didn't impound your bike and make you walk to your buddy's house since it was just around the corner.

I don't know many people (me included) that drive exactly 35 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Most of us go between 37 - 40 MPH without thinking about it ever. If we see a cop coming the other direction, we slow down to 35. That's slowing down to the speed limit and that doesn't mean we were speeding (in the sense that we would have been pulled over by most cops) so I can understand him slowing down to the speed limit. So him saying that he slowed down to the speed limit doesn't mean anything (for all you idiots that keep bringing this up). We all do the same thing as a natural reaction.

Here's what I would do. Take a picture of where you have your license plate on your bike and dispute the ticket. The judge can't raise the ticket or add anything onto it. If the cop shows up (which he probably wont), his video will show that you haven't moved the license and if it really is visible, the ticket will be tossed. Also, I've never seen any court fees applied to traffic court. I don't think it will cost you to dispute a ticket.

I have a feeling that a lot of the people giving you advice might have never been stopped by a cop. I've never seen a judge not drop the ticket price at least (though I'm sure it's happened). You'll at least get some money off.

I say just pay it and move on. The points, if any, won't be there forever. I have been through the same thing when I was younger.

I def was not calling you stupid. I am sorry if you took my post that way. That being said, I would never sell my wife, family, or friends short by not wearing the required gear. Stunting will never happen, I promise you that. In moderation, yes I do speed. After losing my cousin to a high speed motorcycle crash and having to postpone my wedding so everyone could attend his funeral, I have become a lot less likely to speed in general, regardless of the vehicle.

I guess my bottom line to you is, when you disobey the law and get caught, man up and take responsibility for what you did. Above all, take safety seriously, the alternative can literally be fatal.

just get on the **** thing and grow enough balls to learn how to hold a balance point wheelie, hold them on the freeway for as long as possible. When you drop the wheel, pick it back up.

Statistics will catch up.

is it your natural reaction to run from the cops, then slow back down to the speed limit? i dont think that nailing the throttle on a (pretty much) race ready bike, then slowing back down to the speed limit is the same as cruising at 2-5 mph over the speed limit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
