Last year or so, I was driving the car in the rain and the tires got away from me (they're 17x11's) and if anyone has ever driven with such big *** tires you'll know that they're great on dry pavement but when it rains they turn into big ski's ....so I ended up hitting a bridge. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

This is what it looked like before :

this is when I decided to drive it into a bridge :

And this is what I got done to it, its the original base coat GM color with an entire can of House Of Kolor's largest red/green/blue metallic flake they sell. Its the same size flake they put on boat's

You can kinda see the flake in the last picture, but for some reason the camera didnt pick it up so well...it needs to be buffed one more time but its about done. God it took forever to get this painted.

ok, yeah I was bored and kiling time at work till 5pm with this post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

pimpin..got a OT question for you.

How fast are those things? that model of vette? There was a girl back in high school that had one, and it was probably one of the slowest vettes ive been in, but hers was pretty ragged out too (from letting all the guys drive it...lol) so just curious if it was just hers, or that model in general just wasnt as fast? Ive heard people tell me it is due to the suspension and a few other things, but wanted an opinion from someone that actually owns one and drives one.

i drive with big tires on my rear 18x10.5 with a 285 series tire and never had the "ski" effect as you call it. Matter of a fact my last car also had a 17x10.5 in the rear with a 335 series tire. Looks good tho and sorry bout the bridge.

Its an 1986 with the 87 alumnium heads on it, ANSA exhaust, Hyperchip, and new interior in it....but yeah, if you treat a vette like shit, it will run like shit.... its as simple as that really. Ive got mine up to 150 with the t-top off and got a afro hairdoo from it, that was enough for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I've already got equipment to drop in the back for the stereo setup, be prepared to see some 150's out of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

looks plain, why not go with a different color
Actually, its a complete other color since the flakes were added...in the sunlight it completely changes from red to green to blue to pink and back to red again. Its just like the big *** flakes they put on boats that change multiple colors. I was so tired of having a plain paint job on a vette, kinda took the fun out of it.

Oh, and about the "ski" effect....it was like that on this vette and my 92 I had a couple of years back. My problem was that when I decided to go "skiing" there was about 3" of water on the road that I didnt see that was nice enough to help me hit the bridge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

looks good, look even better in a few months when you can wax it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i always hated the registration/inpsection stickers on the windshield there..

yeah **** texas, I keep forgetting to remove it from the windshield.

Im glad everyone likes the vette, I originally took it to the MECA world finals in 05 but only got 5th place with a 150 in street 3. Maybe i'll go SQ this time ? I dunno, im undecided.

Not sure why in the world you would put flake paint job on such a beautiful car, but is interesting to say the least. Maybe a little of your own taste. Myself, I liked it better the other way, but my favorite color on anything is Black with tinted windows.

Nice car though!
