according to Mike at SS this is the very last one they had, until the new ones in the fall, its massive!

Way to big for my current Fiberglass enclosure, so Im going to have to make a brand new one for this sub...so I dont know how it sounds as of yet
How is it to big ?

It only needs .17 sealed

Yea, I've had 'em crossed over at 400 Hz before. Gets a little muddy though, so I still prefer (and recommend) to keep them poundin' out the beats below 100 Hz. At any rate, the woofer pictured above is no longer for sale new. I may have one or two refurbished units that I will be putting up for sale (over on http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif ), otherwise you'll have to wait for the retooled version of this driver to debut in early Fall.

The main modification will include a lighter and more pliable surround to aid in low-frequency extension and overall effeciency. Once the new surround and cone come in, we'll be toying around with the addition of a second spider to the suspension, which may or may not make it in the final release depending on our testing results. The new 8 incher is slated for public release in September 2005 or thereabouts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's a negative.

It's just not necessary since that driver will never use that size surround to its full potential.

Lowering the mass and stiffness is a good thing! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
