No desk...
I play games, chat on CA.com and use photoshop all while sitting on my bed.

At the end of the month I may have room for a desk, time will tell.

Hmm, idea time for no-desk/want tower/bigger display while staying with playing on the bed:

Get an HDTV, a tower and a wireless keyboard/mouse. Turn that HDTV into a multi-media displayer of satellite/cable. DVD/BluRay, videogames, slide shows, webpages, etc. and you can see it all in stunning LARGE detail while laying on the bed with an assortment of remotes, keyboard and mouse.

A tower setup with the wireless stuff should run around $600.

BluRays are around $300.

Figure $2K to set yourself up, about the cost of a decent mobile audio setup. If you only have enough money to toss at one quality project at a time, then sticking with the laptop works but if you make any sort of income, you can get a credit card with enough room to buy a Really Cool system for your bedroom. You'll be spending plenty of time there so you might as well be comfortable and high tech at the same time!

Paying debts on things you like isn't so bad...LOL!

I have much expendable income and this still doesnt seem like anything I want to do.

My plans are...

DLP projector for living room. I have a PS3 already.

Bedroom is just a 27" tube. and a desk for the computer.

my desktop takes up less space than my laptop

My laptop takes up less space and fits on my bed where I currently am able to use a computer. At the end of the month it will be different and Ill make a decision at that point.

if space is an issue definately look into shuttle barebones when you are ready to build a desktop

ripping a laptop apart to get a 130mhz increase in clock speed is some serious dedication

The DLP sounds like a good idea

Having some sort of high tech video display is part of the times we live in. Lordy, I remember when having more than one TV in a house, even if it was black and white, meant you were rich...LOL!

Ill look into it.

Umm...the processor was hella cheap.

I can take the LT apart and put it back together in less than 30 minutes. Its extremely easy.

And the increase if all does as planned should be well worth it with the OC
