Installed only one Dayton Reference Driver, on the driver side.....80 wrms
The Seas CA18RNX played on the passenger side.....40 wrms
63 hz. Mid Low
1.2 khz. Mid High
1.2 khz. Highs
....I have Illusion CH-1 Drivers on ID CD2 Horns.
I played the FOCAL cd...track 1 and 3 are my favorite.
I also played DJ Tiesto's "Ice Rain" and Paul Van Dyk's "For An Angel"
The Dayton Reference plays those deep notes with authority. I even crossed over at 50 hz. and it did fine. The Seas didnt like being crossed at 63 hz, it seemed to lose control.
The Daytons are punchy but are not as snappy as the Seas. I crossed them both at 3.2 khz and the Seas shined....the Daytons were not as detailed, and sounded a bit "muffled".
To my surprise the Seas kept up with the Daytons at moderate volumes. The Daytons did get a bit louder, but not as much as I thought.
Overall....the Daytons are a great buy. They handle bass well and are pretty detailed up to around 2.5 khz.
I am staying with the seas CA18RNX mids.......because I doubt anyone will buy them (speaker wires solded unto the terminals)
SEAS CA18RNX $55 shipped (one has a slight cut on the cone)
Dayton RS180 $70 shipped (one mid used for testing, the other is Brand New)
BTW....I purchased the Daytons for $75 shipped.
