Hello

Just got my battery today.. I went into the shop looking for a Kinetik HC1400, but they were out, so he sold me this one for $150 bucks... Claims to be close in power, its deep cycle, gave me 60 day written warranty, so I figured eh, what the hell...

Here is a pic of the current Battery Terminal Configuration in my car....

HERE.... is what my new battery/and battery terminals look like

When I was at the shop, he tried to put some screw in top post terminals in there, but they were to big (they were the ones for the HC1400)... So i guess my question is how do I either

A: go about finding a post that fits this battery, OR

B: Change my battery cable connection so it will fit this one

I HAVE AN APT. on wed. to get my battery cables extended so they will fit the new battery (as you can see in the pics the stock terminals are on reverse sides... SUCKS!!! so if someone could tell me what parts I am going to need that would be great.

look at my batt. wire terminal... won't fit on a bolt.. I need to find a top post, or have a custom connector put on.

yea i couldnt find any info on it anyways... but after I get my alt back I will throw it in and see how it performs... bout all I can do. but hey, 150 bucks... I can't complain.

Do you know what the shop is gonna do to extend the wire? Are they going to run a whole new one or just crimp them?

Ask them if they run new wires get some good 1/0 and have them do it with that, and then you have the big 3 done.+

x2, spring for the extra $$$ for 0/1

I would find some screw in top posts for it or cut the ends off your factory wires and put rings on them but the pos has some big goofy shit on it, so I dunno. Is that like a fuse or something on the pos cable? If not and its just a connector cut that shit off and put rings on all the terminals and bolt them in. It will just make it a pain in the *** if you need a jump or have to charge the batt as there wont be alot to clamp to.

Order the terminals from Here.

It looks like your positive cable will still fit even if the terminals are on different sides. Just put the battery in so that the positive is still on the same side, it might be another 3 inches away but it looks like it will still fit. If your negative cable does not fit, get a new one made like you did with that other blue cable that looks to be 0ga.

Just get some screw in top posts from any auto store. Should be a 3/8" 16 thread...

And put the new battery in with the POS terminal on the same side as factory, so it'll be towards the front of the car and you should be able to make those cables fit no problem. At the most you'd have to do a new ground.

I'm up near Gurnee if you need a hand and want to make a trip up over the weekend as I wouldn't pay a shop for that...

They are 6mm, he will not be able to find those easily. he stated in his post that a normal screw in type did not fit.

That's exactly what I had done. The guy's were really cool about it, only charged me an extra 20 bucks to run ignition wiring, and all of big 3 in 1/0 (I also had spark plugs and spark plug wiring done). I was going to do it myself...but if you guys had a look at the amount of room around my engine...oh boy!

THANK YOU!!!

seriously, all you guys are listing suggestions that I stated in my first post WOULD NOT WORK!!

The top posts are not regular screw in top posts...the guy at the store tried like 3 different kinds, and they were all TO BIG.

My battery wires are to short to leave the POS. on the left side....the POS cable has NO wiggle room....this is why I am getting them extended in the first place..

whoever suggested to put rings on the battery terminals...this seems like the best idea to me, I just don't know if my mechanic can do that, or has the parts to do it, beacuse I sure don't know what I would need to change the current configuration.

I AM DOING 0 Gauge FOR EVERYTHING...

PLEASE LOOK AT THE CURRENT CONFIGURATION IN THE PICTURE FIRST

My bad on the thread size. Either way your wires should fit judging by the pic you posted. Get your terminal situation taken care of and see if they'll reach. What POS wire are you saying won't fit? Both look like they could reach the front left corner no problem....
