Trigger; I traded an Audi A4 in for it, and aside from the obvious price difference with an Audi or [nicer] Acura, I feel that this car is more nicely appointed - the only 'real' option (factory installed option, anyway) is side-curtain airbags.
Other than that, it comes pretty well loaded in the base configuration.
The seats are nicer than your average cloth seating, adjustable all ways; side-view mirror signals, keyless entry, auto-relock on nonentry, beautiful cluster and hvac controls, decent pioneer sound, reclining back seats, lay-flat interior (whole thing converts to a bed, pretty much) touch-release hatch; two panoramic moon roofs?! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
And it's very firm; It doesn't sound cheap when you close the door or go over a bump; The dash and trim is of higher quality than other cars in the price range, and really,
The 2AZFE isn't a slouch of an engine; Granted, only 160hp and stock quarters a hair above fifteen, there is a supercharger available from Toyota Racing Development - can easily makes two hundred HP after the install. Couple that with dealer-approved exhausts, intakes, suspension, and an overall encouragement to modify the car (and still retain the warranty) and you've got a winner. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
The 'spec' package is 15k, and comes on steelies with no power to the moonroof, but retains the majority of comfort-food inside.
I think it was a great choice, even if it does run fifteens stock.
- Got an Injen axleback from
http://www.trdsparks.com heading my way; He talked me out of the Borla, which apprently is a little loud.
Updates from the 05 and 06 models this year include a millimeter's worth of valve adjustment, duration improvement, relocated MAF, and some intake adjustments.
I will fabricate a new intake, the stock rubber couplings heatsoak pretty bad.
