Easy way to fill rust spot?

Long story short, 2 rust holes have developed on the rear quarter and they leak water like a mother when it rains, especially since I'm in Florida. I have the money to repair all the body damage from the wreck but I'd rather save it towards another car. Is there an easy way to repair the hole without getting too expensive? An epoxy, body filler, etc? If you need pics I can grab some...anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

x2, then fill it...
You'd have to weld the piece on the inside correct? Theres no way in hell someone could get a welder up in there with teh piece of metal AND see what they're doing...its in a cramped space...I'll grab a picture...

Remove all the rust first , if the holes are bigger than a nickel or so , got to the autoparts store and get some of the patching metal . Then lay the kitty hair over that . If they are smaller , just use the kitty by itself . Sand it smooth //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That should work for you as well, if they are small holes you should be able just to fill them. Remove the rust first though...

Hmmmmmmmmm, those are pretty bad rust spots and will definatly get bigger as you grind the rust off.

But you HAVE to get all the rust off first.

Since your not interested in a permanent solution, (long term), grind all the rust out and do something similar to what Ramos said. You may even be able to use some JB Weld and then do some body filler and some paint.

so...

1. Remove all rust

2. On smaller hole, create backing with JB Weld and cover in body filler; sand; paint.

3. On larger hole, cover it in patching metal and cover in kitty hair; sand; paint.

But how does the kitty hair bond to the body? Do I have to sand the paint to the metal around the big hole? Kinda confused...

Just remove the rust , the kitty hair will stick to the primer and sealer well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
