Got metered today

I was interested to see what I was hitting, so I got metered today. I hit 141.5 on the tl mic, which I think was pretty good considering the car. I have 4 pg octane zrs in a ported box tuned to 32 hetz for sq. I only have a jbl 1200.1 pushing all four of them. All of this in a 91 lincoln towncar, so the seats dont fold back, and they are very thick seats. I will have pics tomorrow of the install. Its to dark today for pictures.

I metered again today and hit 143 on the tl. The gain was down far from my friend playing with it. 143 @51 hertz tuned at 32. Its really hard to hit high in my car. The seats are very thick, and their is foam inbetween the seat. Also the bass has to go through metal, and through the gas tank, so I think I did pretty good considering the odds against me. I could hit much higher, but I havent put more power to them yet, or tuned the box higher. Youve got to realize that older cars also have much more fabric between the seats. I will say this though. Its the loudest daily system ive heard outside the car. The bass carrys very very far. The 143 may not seem loud on paper, but in my car its loud as hell outside it.

Im pretty sure I can hit 145 if I put it in its spl box, and tune it around 40-45 hertz. Im almost positive. But I wont do that, because this is just a sql system.

The local store didnt even think ide hit 140 on the tl since my car is so big, and the seats dont come down, and the gas tank, and ect..

I think you'd have a better chance at a higher score with a single sub (or a pair) and more power.

But for a daily system with that amount of power in that specific vehicle ... good job - those Lincolns are tough to get loud on the mic with just a daily setup. Keep it up and try to squeeze some more out of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i wil have pics up tomorrow. I was going to post them today, but I couldnt figure out how to put them up, and now my friend has the cam, so it wont be untill tomorrow. How do I put pictures up, so that when look at this page their will be a big picture of the subs.

your note is already too high for your applicatoin

making it higher wont make it louder... you need to get the note DOWN to up your score.

your not in a CRX... ya know.

do you have your rear stock speakers out

i have bigoDeVille, took my stock speakers out and my little 12" type e hits pretty good

Yah, and I may work on that a little, but it gets the job done. If I can get it to 145, then ill be satisfied, which I know I can, but I dont want to tune the box differently, so Ill throw some more power to it later. I dont feel like hooking up my other amp to it at this point. Can someone tell me how to post pictures so that you see them right when u go to this page, instead of having to click on a link.

yep their out, but I still dont get much flow in the car. My car is so huge, much bigger than your deville. I never said my system doesnt hit good, because with 143 on the tl it sounds fine. Could be louder inside the car, but outside it, its rediculous. A budy of mine has a treo ssx hitting 146 in his honda accord, but my system kills his on the outside. Since I got 4 12s.
