well the cops word is better than yours either way, only thing i would try to do is :

knowing he didnt have a meter in the car to make it actual, and if you wernt doing ANYTHING else wrong then he shouldnt have pulled you over, being in possession or not, he didnt have right to search the vehicle because in reality you were doing nothing wrong? am i right, it couldve been soemthing else around yall that sounded like bass, either either way he didnt have a meter.

I need some help guys, last night on my way home i got pulled over for my sounds and the guy was saying it was to loud although I never agreed to that or said my sounds but one thing led to another and they searched my car and found one little bag of weed and they arrested me. My car got impounded and now I have to go up there and get it. I was wondering about going to fight this and try and get my money back. The guy never showed me a meter or anything with my sounds being loud he just went off ear. Is it possible I can win this and get my money back?? Also how does this work will I be able to get all my money back that I spent on getting my car out the impound??? Its about to cost me somewhere around 600 to get it out but I will see.

- if they impound your car its basically money lost.. the ONLY way you can fight it is if your Weed case is dropped.. If your convicted of it.. forget it...

My court date is aug 7....I just got back and I dont even have enough to get it out...costing 1700 to get it out which is more than what the car is even worth...Now my only option is to take this to court....I filled out the paperwork to get a court date for the impound and they said I should get a date in 2 weeks...The actual court date might be a month from then....This truely ****ing sucks.....The ticket doesnt have a cost on there but I believe the impound cost for sounds was 1300 which is why its so **** high to get out....Thats the same ****ing price for a **** DUI!!!!
I honestly need all the legal help I can get now cuz that is the only way Im going to get my car back...

get a lawyer.. cuz no matter what.. you will be fined... NO MATTER WHAT >>> i just went through a long *** court casea while ago... You better be able to get all charges dropped of your gonna get fines.... like i said in my first post in this thread

ur screwed; how the only hope you got to win this is probable cause; and most of the time unless you have a lawyer; your gonna loose. Judges will never beleive you they will beleive your lawyer. its shitty bussiness but thats how it works; just bite the bullet and learn from it; when you got shit in your car have the subs OFF; o ya if your court is after a certain time from when your car got impounded; they can sell it crush it w/e they want; atleast they can in IL

The only reason why I say my weed charge should get dismissed here in chicago they handle more than 200 misdemeanor cases a day. When I went to court last time for a charge that was worse than this I had about 50 people infront of my case and out of that 50...48 of them was dismissed including mine...I thought i was going to be in there all day but only was there for about two hours...Small misdemeanor charges like this 95% of the time will get thrown out...

Honestly like the other guy said even though he was trying to put me down my system isnt that loud even at full volume....I didnt have it anywhere near full volume...the officer that pulled me over followed me for 4 blocks before he decided to pull me over and say my sounds were a disturbance. I wasnt doing anything wrong just trying to go home to study for my final that I have today.

Impound charges go up by day ONLY if you are pending on a court case ( in this case , the weed case )

If its a criminal case that you try to get it dropped , the impound usually keeps the vehicle under a set fee.... If this was a vehicle seizure / forfeiture case, it wouldnt matter if it was there for 6 days or 6 months its the same $$.. Your given 30 days after your criminal case has ended to either go to court as a civil case ( against the car ) to fight for it back for no charge , and to try to tell the judge why you shouldnt pay, or just pay the fine as it is...

And OP ... If your found guilty of possession , creating another case is a bad idea.. Judges hear 100's of excuses / week...

in Mobile county at least, if your car is impounded it WILL go up per day. even if your *** is in jail waiting for a bond hearing or whatever. they dont give a shit.

Im saying under any state .. if his vehicle is Forfeited to the state , under impound and gross misdemeanor or felony offense, there is a set rate....

Not just for your avg everyday police impound... Im talking larger charges...

you will be fined for something more than likely ( even tho you get slack cuz your in a shit town that lets bs like that roll.. If you were here ., you would be sitting in county, your car would be seized and $800 fine + court costs ... be grateful

Im probably going to have to borrow the money and sell off my sounds to pay what i owe off...if Im found to be liable for the impound Im going to have to pay the 1700 reguardless of getting my car back or not... They will suspend my license and not allow me to buy a new car in this state...
