i just received my CDA-9811 from etronics.com this (thu) morning, had ordered it on mon night.

thanks to everyone who replied to my posts/ gave advice.

looks great, arrived with a dent in the box but no damage to the unit itself. the styrofoam did its job i hope.

has anyone installed this particular unit before? its diff than the 9813/9815 as it doesn not have a v-drive internal amp and only outputs 50x4w max and not 60x4w.

so my question is, do i have to run a wire directly to my battery from the unit or will the harness take care of it?

cant wait to get home to check it out, so i'm asking you guys now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks!

If you get the right harness, then every thing will go so smoothly w/o runinng wire to the battery. The color code make thing very easy. Play & have fun w/ it man !

Nah, you should be fine just going with the power into the harness. Especially if you are going to be using external amplifiers. Let us know how the deck works out for you.

the wiring harness is up and connected. i'm using the butt connectors, i hope they hold. they are tricky.

the HU's ground wire is supposed to be connected to the chassis, but the wiring harness has a wire for grounding it. shall i strip the alpine ground wire and connect it to the harness or should i connect it to tehe chassis as originally intended?
