got fired today

in case you didn't know i was an hr manager or what they call a "people coach" at kmart. about 3 days i get paiged by one of the cashiers that a customer was giving her a hard time. i go up there and there is this about late 60 year old man. he tells me your dumb employees are trying to tell me this detergent isn't on sale. he says the sign says all detergent 20% off. i tell him like the cashier and the floor person said, that is all brand not every single detergent (he had gain detergent) we proceeded to go back and forth and he was swearing at me and i, unlike all the other managers, don't give in to loud and *****y customers. finally he says **** this place i will never shop here again. i told him that's fine by me, one less ******* i have to worry about. well i get ready to start working and the store manager says to go home. i ask why and he said a customer reported to the HQ about what i said and the district manager fired me. the district manager doesn't like me to begin with. he didn't even want to give me the job because i'm young but my store manager talked him into it. now he had a perfect to get rid of me. i had a chance to take a demotion and work on the floor but i turned it down

Sorry to hear that. Tis the exact reason I don't work for anyone. They'll drop you like you a turd out their ***. They don't give a flying fok about their employees.

the customer is always right... is a BS policy. when someone goes that high up in the chain to complain, they usually take it seriously. however, this may not always hold true, but to the company it is the impetus to axe you. dont worry, my unlce started out as a manager for Kmart in the 70s and now he owns his own Honda dealership in PA.

x2, if a customer is gonna talk shit to me, make a seen in my shop, and waste my time... he can tell his other friends(if he has any), I could care less. People like that are never wanted around me, on a personal or business level.

Reminds me of what people think they can get away with over the phone as well. Did CS for MCI at one point and didn't tolerate their BS. Long story short, I quit before I got fired, multiple phone line disconnects, prank calls after work to let em know how I really felt about them. Lots of other "bad" stuff as well. It was one of those jobs your only ever gonna do once. So I made the best of it. If you were nice to me, they would generally be pretty happy. Start mad *****ing at me, not gonna fly. ;P

no offense but if u were an employee of mine and i heard that you had said taht to a customer regardless of if they were right or wrong in the given situation i'd have fired you also. even though, im sorry to hear they fired ya. But there are better places to work. Its all in how u look at it i suppose

if you did that to me, i would tear your arms off and beat you with them:laugh: thats funny though. when i worked at chilis, i called my boss a fat *** and threw a drink at him. i hated that f**king job.

That story barely made any sense....some things were left out but I pretty much made them out as I read along.

i know it doesn't make sense because they never looked into it.

if i cared about loosing my job i wouldn't have said it. i was getting ready to give them my 2 week notice. i techincally didn't get fired they said i wasn't fit for the position or something like that. they said i can stay as an electronics associate. that makes no sense as i would be with more customers then my current position. they would've just given me 4 hours a week till i quit. so it's basically i officially quit, but in reality i got fired. they are just sneaky like that.

anyways i did get a temporary job at the local car audio shop. it only pays $4.50 an hour under the table, but it is something to fill time untill i move. not gonna do any installs, just as a fill in salesmen. he is runs the store by himself so he has to do installs and handle customers. he knows i called a customer an ******* by the way. the people that come in are my age and talk about car audio so i don't get too pissed. the only problem is trying to pedal audiobahn to them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

that sucks man. Im a lifeguard near a military base and during the summer some tough heads came with their kids to the pool. The other lifeguard, that i was working with, told one of their kids to stop running and the kid's dad yelled at her until she cried. oh boy...

eff kmart and that douche-cicle of a district manager tool! And Eff your store manager for not sticking up for you- nice to see he folded like a napkin. Eff that goddam job and good luck in Florida man. I think I am gonna go firebomb our local kmart out of revenge!

I love watching dumbass customers get their *** handed to them by pissed off employees. I dunno bout you but it makes me WANT to shop there again. Worst that's happened to me is we were unloading a truck at BB and I was carrying TV's down the isle. This stupid ***** comes up to me in an angry tone and says "Excuse me sir, why dont you drop that and give me some help over here?!". Of course I just gave her a dirty look, said I dont work in the department, and kept going like nothing happened. God I hate customers.....
