Got cheap way to heat garage. Good idea or just plain stupid

get a bunch of those "hand warmer" packs and hang them on the walls. or on strings hanging from the ceiling. I bet 200-300 would do it.

Another idea, Pull your car in there, shut the doors to keep the heat in, and leave the car running with the heat on high.
yeah and suffocate right? lol

i just use our dryer lol. Unplug the hose in the winter.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif its electric btw

if you have a menards just get one of the electric garage heaters. costs from around 130 to maybe 200 at most..vent free heaters

otherwise try home depot, since the stores are clearing out winter stuff heaters should be marked down pretty soon

i use wood in my garage but start with a propane torpedo heater to get it hot faster. I know you are completely against propane but if you stay with the smaller electric but just use a kerosene or propane just to kick it off for a few minutes you might have good results. I see old heaters cheap all the time on craigslist. I had an old kerosene heater before that did a good job with a couple small electrics.

I have 5 Honeywell 360 degree 1500 watt heaters that I use as my primary heat in my house.. Right now its 10 degrees outside and 72 inside,,, Cost me about $100 a month for my electric compared to $450 per month for fuel oil which would be my primary heat if it wasnt so much
