Got cheap way to heat garage. Good idea or just plain stupid

what about over loading a circuit. i know in my 2 car garage if i am running 2 heaters i pop the breaker. wood works great, thats how we heat my buddys dads body shop, start with soft woods to build the heat quick and then throw in some hardwood to maintain that temp. how much is a cord of wood? initial investment of the heater whichever you get, and what the yearly cost gonna run you to operate them. i would care more about the yearly than the cost of the unit.

Wood is nice and cheap and dangerous. You would also have to run a chimmney which if it's not your garage not such a good idea. Electric is cheap but chances are you will have to upgrade your circuit other wise you will be blowing breakers. I think your best bet would be propane or kerosine. You get more btu's from kerosine so it's a warmer heat than propane but they both work good imo

There again I do appreciate input. But I have done research and that is the way. Propane is out of the question because it is the equivalent of 6.50 a gallon for kerosene. A LOT more so I would just use kero if was going to do that. wood burning.... not allowed to modify the garage and I am pretty sure cutting a big hole might do that. and electric. I have a 100amp box in the garage so I am fine. Its cool I guess I will just order electric heaters online. Overstock.com looks like it might be a rip off. I am finding heaters on there that walmart has for cheaper lol. funny stuff

yeah just buy a couple of these

get a bunch of those "hand warmer" packs and hang them on the walls. or on strings hanging from the ceiling. I bet 200-300 would do it.

Another idea, Pull your car in there, shut the doors to keep the heat in, and leave the car running with the heat on high.
