ok i am using a single 12" Diamond Audio D312 dual 4ohm sub. i want to run a Cerwin Vega XL600.1 amp. now my question is 3 fold.

1st:

what gauge wiring should i use from the battery to the amp as well as the ground for it?

2nd:

what gauge wiring to go from the amp to the sub?

3rd:

how do i wire the dual 4ohm voice coil to run as 2ohm? i am so confused on this

(yes i am a newbie, yes i have used the search but i dont have hours to read every single post that comes up under the search)

thanks in advance, Greggk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1) I would use 4 gauge on that amp for power and ground

2) Amp to sub I'd go with 12 gauge.

3) Wire in parallel, will post a diagram in a second

wow thanks man, that was fast! is their specific brands of wire to go away with and ones to stay away from?
Not necessarily, I'd highly recommend KnuKonceptz wire (found at http://KnuKonceptz.com)

They have great prices on great wire. I'd recommend the KLMX if your on a tight budget, or the Kolossus if you can spend a bit more. Difference is the KLMX is CCA while the Kolossus is OFC. (CCA = copper clad aluminum, OFC = oxygen free copper).

The OFC cable is better, but to an extent. I've used both KLMX and Kicker Hyperflex, and my voltage was the same with the two. Kicker Hyperflex is pretty much the same as the Knu Fleks, which is very flexible OFC.
