Got alot done today....

well kinda.... I installed my 200A HO Alt, new Optima Yellow Top, and did the big 3 with 1/0 wire. took longer than expected but I wanted to make sure I got it all done right and looking good. I think it all turned out real nice, I have pics but can't get them loaded up right now I am having trouble with my memory stick reader. As soon as I get it fixed pics will be up.

tomorrow I have to work on my doors and add more deadening and re tune my system (crossover, eq, time alignment, etc) as I lost it all while power was disconnected. This time I am going to right down the settings I get to make it easier next time.

also thanks to everyone that leant me advice on the Big 3 and Alt, etc.

antoher quick question...

on the chasis to engine wire: I ran it from one of the Alt mounting brackets to the body of the car (cleaned a good ground) is that right?

Ok so I made a BIG dumb mistake....

after installing my alt and battery, I didn't adjust my amps to accomodate the increased power they are now getting. and had not reset my headunit settings. As I was riding down to my buddy's place my front left mid blew!!! DUMB DUMB DUMB costly mistake by me.

good thing I have my old set of Q series laying around I am about to put in in place of the Hex mid.

here are some pics of my Big 3, new HO alt, new Optima. Tell me what you think and how it looks and if I need to do anything differently.

Here is the 200A alt, the wire on the left goes from alt mounting bracket to the chassis. the one on the right goes from alt+ to batt pos. and is fused with 250A anl.

this shows the added batt neg. to chassis ground on the right and also where the alt pos is fused into the batter. also the new Yellow Top.

I changed the alternator ground to 1/0 black wire and got a better ground point that is just below the alt on the frame.
